Anthony Thompson - Partner

I have 30+ years’ experience across multiple industry sectors, advising both employers and individuals on complex employment matters. My expertise includes litigation (including advocacy), disciplinary and grievance investigations, discrimination, whistleblowing, dismissals, senior executive disputes, restructuring and reorganisation exercises, redundancies, corporate transactions and commercial agreement including TUPE and general HR advisory issues. I am an accomplished employment tribunal advocate and have represented clients at preliminary and full hearings. I have acted in appeals to the Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal.

I am accustomed to collaborating with senior executives and HR in providing solutions aligned to business need. I also devise and deliver HR training.

For individuals, I have negotiated high value settlements and successfully pursued claims for breach of contract, unfair dismissal, discrimination and unpaid wages and bonuses in the employment tribunals and High Court.

I have significant international employment experience. Prior to joining the firm, I was the sole employment lawyer for a multinational group of companies (including the world’s largest MVNO telecoms operator and interests in healthcare, hospitality, media and financial services) supporting its businesses across 20 plus jurisdictions in EMEA, APAC and the US and advised on risk, strategy and reputational damage and successfully defended major litigation claims. 

In my spare time, I enjoy music, travel and sport and am an avid supporter of a London based Premier League team. I am a mentor of Bridging Barriers, a social mobility charity providing guidance to young adults aspiring to achieve career success.
